dear july - 

first, i have to tell you that your friend june is, well, not so friendly. sure, i had a great trip to wisconsin, and got to hug BOTH of my kids during the month...but still...june was not the best. let's try to do better than that, shall we? 

i have plans, july. i want to look back on the month and think "wow - july really ROCKED it." i want more laughter than tears. i want more wins than losses. i want more succss than failure.

if i can be specific for a moment - i also want to catch up on project life. yes, i still believe in this project. i'm taking the therearenorulesexceptmovingforward approach to the past. hence my somewhat awkward & plain may 2013 collage-o-photos. soon to be printed at a costco near you (or, y' i'll slide that bad boy into a page protector, add some journaling on the reverse side, and then attempt to conquer june over the holiday weekend. i'm all about fresh starts, july....and project life seems like an easy place to begin. 

could i ask one little favor of you, july? could you be the month where i finally let go of this weight that i'm carrying? i get it, i really do - stress, adrenal fatigue, winter, blah, blah, blah. let's get over ourselves. i'm walking, i'm drinking less wine, and i'm eating well. let's get on with it. progress would be appreciated.

back in january, i pledged to SOAR this year. so far, it has felt iike i always have a broken wing. let's be epic this month. let's have lift-off. let's hang out in the clouds.

Dear Monday - thank you. Thank you for starting with hysterical laughter via text with Barb. Thank you for continuing with texts/emails from friends that made me smile. Thank you for meetings in which I felt confident. Thank you for a lunch jaunt with Gina that involved laughter & high-fives. Thank you for a conversation with a beloved friend. Thank you for a charity photo shoot that made me grateful. Thank you for a wonderful chat with Austin. Thank you for a cheesy corn chowder that came together beautifully sans recipe. Thank you for a lovely red blend in my wine glass. Thank you for a book that is inspiring me like crazy. Monday - you kinda rocked. xoxoxo Katrina

- So, when I pretty much shouted YES! to Lee's Reverb12 challenge, I didn't factor in the fact that I was leaving on Nov 30th for a solid week of travel. Oops. I'm now in the process of catching up (ugh. If it's not one thing, it's another!). I set up a new blog to capture my responses. I hope you'll visit....and maybe comment. Pretty please? 

Hello cocktail party - I'm hosting my work team at my house on Wed. Really looking forward to relaxing with the people that I spend so much time stressing out with. 

Hello chocolate covered cherries - confession: they contain HFCS. I know. I know!! I simply cannot resist them. If you know of a natural alternative (that I don't have to add to my "to make" list), please clue me in. 

Hello Christmas cards - after wasting way too much time deliberating, and deciding that I simply didn't want to "invest" in high-end cards....I am the proud owner of 75 Costco photo cards. Shift your expectations, people.

Hello never-ending kitchen clean-up - sigh. It's the bane of my existence. Austin said "well, I guess we could stop eating?"

hello to the last week of November! You won't hear any "the year is ending too fast" from me - bring it! It's not that I'm slamming the door on 2012, it's just that I'm excited about the future.

hello storm watch. We're on alert here - expecting high winds later today through tomorrow. I'm grateful for my new roof...the old one wouldn't have survived.
