I never imagined that May would bring so much. I celebrated my baby girl's 22nd birthday, then sent her off to the (relative) wilderness of Northern Ontario to plant trees. I vacationed with Barb, and had the awesome opportunity to reconnect with my (ex)sister-in-law. I watched my handsome son take his beautiful date to the prom. I lost my Grandpa with a suddenness that still takes my breath away. I reconnected with aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. I hugged my parents and my brother (a privilege that distance prevents). And through it all, I made my bed every.single.day because my house is still on the market (sigh). A favorites list seems so little compared to everything else that happened this month, but here goes anyway...
this blog (that kitchen. i'm in love.)
burrata - this cheese is simply heavenly. I had a burrata, arugula, and fig salad in NYC this week that was divine.
the number of times that strangers commented "you're so calm" during my travels this month. props to meditation.
the Joy the Baker and Shutterbean podcast - they make me laugh out loud on planes.
Sweet Riot dark chocolate with quinoa - yum (and thumbs up for the quirky details in their packaging).
Practicing metta and thinking about mudita (sympathetic joy), and why it's sometimes so hard.
Trader Joe's finally opening in Vermont. Happy, happy, happy.
Jeff Buckley's rendition of Hallelujah.
meditating outside - a simple shift in practice.
