I was in the car for 10+ hours over the past two days. I got home tonight ready to crawl out of my skin from the sheer boredom of driving. I think that today's reflection practice is important to have a more holistic view of the week...
tasting :: red wine...a bold pour by the Courtyard waiter. cara cara oranges. potato rosemary soup. dove chocolates w/ hazelnut. warm almond milk before bed.
hearing :: songs on my ipod that I can't figure out how to remove (drives me INSANE). the symphony created by the wind chimes on the deck. the stunningly beautiful morning meditation by Heather Waxman.
smelling :: incense. the fireplace.
seeing :: fresh colors (new shower curtain & sheets). a body that needs more movement. irritating posts in my newsfeed.
feeling :: road weary. hopeful. unsure about connection. like I need to do more for a stressed friend. more able to find calm in the midst of chaos.
wishing/hoping :: for a productive weekend. that I could spend the weekend with Barb & KP. that the weather warms up. that 'walk along the waterfront' was part of my weekend plans (sub-zero temps make that painful instead of peaceful).
Rosie explains that Friday Reflections is "all about reflecting on the week by observing our senses. My hope is that this will be a gentle, easy way to tune into how we are doing and what we are experiencing weekly when journaling in general can feel so daunting."
