I've told the story of my (mis)adventures with running several times on this blog. As much as I'd really love to Run Like a Mother, the truth is that I often jog/walk like a slightly overweight, dealing with some lingering injuries, can't quite master the running thing mother.
This weekend, for the 3rd time, I will happily join other men & women in the Run for Empowerment. In 2008, I described it simply as Walk this Way. I missed 2009 due to travel (I think). In 2010, I was a bit more introspective in The Sum of my Small Steps.
The race has a personal meaning for me (blogged about here). On Saturday, I'll be walking & jogging past the demons that still sometimes haunt me. I'll be walking & jogging for me, for Kristi, and for all the other women that I know (and don't) who have been touched by domestic violence. I'll be walking & jogging with Hope & Austin, who continue to help me believe that the world is good b/c good people are in it. The 3 of us will be walking & jogging wearing Minerals on a Mission tshirts b/c we're proud to represent a company who supports the NCADV.
Even though it's terribly last minute - if you'd like to donate a buck or two in support, you can do so here: Kat's page.
