I would not say that I am an overly patriotic person. I don't follow politics, so my views on war are rather naive & simple - I hate that we have to fight, but I'm grateful to those who protect us. My cousin Jeff, my dear friend Paul Bruce, along with so many husbands & wives of friends - they've risked their lives to protect mine. For that, I am grateful.
On a much more lighthearted note - we ate outside tonight. Grilled shrimp, baked potatoes, and corn on the cob. No thunder. No lightening. No torrential downpour. For that, I am grateful.
Plans for my belated birthday trip to Napa are starting to come together. For that, I am immensely grateful. I predict laughter, copious wine consumption, and memories that will last a lifetime.
I have been coasting a bit over the past couple of months. Avoiding some tough decisions. Working hard, but stopping short of giving it my all. Friends, well-timed reads, and gentle nudges from the universe have encouraged me to step up. It will get worse before it gets better...but it will get better. For that, I am grateful.
It's a travel week for me...Tues & Wed in the city. Thinking that it's a good time to work the kinks out of my new camera with a photo challenge. Perhaps this one?
And just one more...for each of you who read, comment, email, text, call, FB, and Tweet...for each of you, I am grateful.
