Loving this quote by Dan Millman, author of Way of the Peaceful Warrior...
"To be in Balance, it’s essential to have the breath in Balance. When we’re angry, the exhalation tends to be stronger than the inhalation. When we’re sad, the inhalation tends to be stronger than the exhalation. When we’re feeling fear, we don’t breathe much at all. By bringing the breath back into Balance…it helps bring our life back into Balance."
I went to yoga yesterday for the first time in a loooong time. I felt terribly OUT of balance...quite wobbly, actually. All through the 60 minute practice, I struggled to focus on my breath, and let go of feeling out of sync with the instructor (she was moving through poses SO fast!). When I left, though, I didn't feel discouraged. Instead, I feel motivated to regain some balance...not to mention motivated to be as strong as the other people in the class.
I think that we all strive for balance. With busy kid schedules, combined with busy work schedules, combined with the certainty that we need time for ourselves...balance tends to become about scheduling. I'm trying to think of it differently. There are a few areas of my life that are seriously lacking in balance right now, and it leaves me exhausted. Getting to the gym, and getting back into yoga, are steps to try to bring some balance back.
I'm also signing up for this Wellness Journey class at Big Picture Scrapbooking. Anyone want to join me? I'm really looking forward to it.
